Advocating for Excellence in Education Through Experience

Family

Following in my parents' footsteps, I, too, have been blessed with four daughters. My journey with my husband, Robert, began during college, and we tied the knot shortly before graduation. Together, we are proud parents to four wonderful daughters.

All four of our daughters attended the Hamilton School District from kindergarten through 12th grade. Three of my grandchildren were also part of the Hamilton School District until they moved to Texas. Notably, my oldest and youngest daughters, Nicki and Pam, followed my path and became educators. Nicki works as an elementary special education teacher in Greenfield, WI, while Pam serves as a special education teacher in San Antonio, TX.

Our family is diverse in pursuits. One of our twins, Robin, works alongside my husband in his tax business, while her sister, Becca, is part of the Kohl's team. Beyond the immediate family, my oldest grandchild resides in Tennessee with her family.

Our family's educational achievements continue with Jennifer, my next grandchild, who recently graduated with her master's degree in microbiology from Glasgow University in Scotland and secured her first job. Keleous, our next grandchild, is currently pursuing his degree in biomedical engineering at UW-Madison. Tannis, his brother, is a senior at Waukesha South and is headed to The Ohio State for both baseball and an engineering degree.

The family extends to San Antonio, where CJ, our next grandson, is a junior working towards his computer science and cyber security certification. Our youngest, Alia, is in 8th grade and eagerly anticipates the transition to high school.

In the joyous circle of life, I am now blessed with two great-grandchildren, Austin and Issiac.

Community

Active involvement in our community has always been a cornerstone of my life. During the school years of our children, I was deeply engaged in the Home and School Association. Over the years, I held various offices, including president and vice-president, and took on leadership roles as chairman and co-chairman for numerous fundraising committees and family activities organized by Home and School.

Beyond the school setting, I dedicated time as a Girl Scout Leader for two different troops and coached Odyssey of the Mind teams for several years. Adding to my community contributions, I taught Sunday School and led activities during Vacation Bible Schools for an extended period.

Community service is a family affair for us. My husband and two of my daughters are active members of the Lions Club, and together, we participate in various volunteering opportunities. This includes three decades of volunteering at Sussex Lion Daze, a cherished annual event in our community.

Moreover, I have devoted countless hours to volunteering for the Hamilton School District and the Educational Foundation. This involvement encompasses a wide range of activities, from being an integral part of Dozer Days every year to participating in eye screenings, engaging in the pen pal program, reading to students, and contributing to various other initiatives.

My commitment to community engagement is not just a duty but a passion, and I look forward to bringing this dedication to the School Board of Sussex Hamilton to continue serving the needs of our community.
